Contract Coders
Unity is an ideal tool for Contract Coders to use as it is lightweight, mobile, and does not require a server installation to run. It gives the Contract Coder the ability to quickly code, group and report separations for the facility at which they are working. When completed, the Data Transfer Module allows the export of the verifed separations to an import-ready data file for the facility.
Small and Medium Sized Hospitals
Whether your hospital employs full- or part-time coding staff, or uses the services of a Contract Coder, unity is well suited to your organisation "out-of-the-box". Unity for Contract Coders, it is not necessary to have Unity installed on a large server. You can install and run unity on several machines or just a shared PC. Installing on several machines is a good option when you only need to manage a few installations. This type of arrangement allows you to share your patient data between each Unity installation but have all the required lookup data locally stored on each machine running unity. This minimizes network traffic to only that which is necessary for Unity to run.
Large Hospitals
Where Unity is installed at a large hospital (generally 5 or more full-time unity workstations), the initial setup will undertake scheduled and manual data transfers between the HIS and unity. This connection between the two systems can be integrated in to normal HIS operation and maintaining real-time synchronisation of the two data sets.
